LCR Cares awarded a total of £5,000 in May 2020 during the Coronavirus epidemic. Our bid focused on providing our local communities most vulnerable people with emergency food parcels over 6-8 weeks. With help an amazing team of volunteers and staff, we delivered a total of 359 packages, supporting a total of 115 families in an unprecedented time.

This grant will fund some online safeguarding training for members of staff and some craft packs for children and young people who are isolated at home due to Covid-19 (2020). A project is being prepared to preserve the experiences , thoughts and feelings about life in lockdown which will be preserved in the form of a time capsule which will be buried by the children in the garden of our centre .
  • Amount: £300

This local supermarket foundation and their in-store Community Champion have been consistently generous to our smaller charitable projects over the years. They have funded a number of community engagement events, tea parties for older people, provided arts and crafts for existing groups and most recently have helped sustain a popular group that happens each Wednesday: Carr Mill Connects with Art. Thank you, ASDA Foundation!
  • Amount: £5,000

We received a generation donation from Amazon in December 2020 in response to our emergency COVID relief efforts and the loss of income we had suffered over the lockdown that year. These funds will be spent on improving our meeting rooms on the first floor, purchasing new equipment, and supporting current social groups.
