The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Event Organitation

It was a Surprise announcement!! In celebration of HM The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we organised a Picnic in the Park celebration on Saturday 4th June 2022 in Kentmere Park…(opposite Park Farm Community Centre).

Thanks to local residents, businesses, organisations, church representatives and councillors, we were planning this lovely Summer event, open to everybody living in Clinkham Wood, Carr Mill and Moss Bank.

Live music, food, refreshments, entertainment, stalls and performances right in the heart of our community. It was too long, let us all got together.

Bunting Competition

we were asking children and families from the local community to design their best bunting! All designs were used to decorate Kentmere Park for the celebration on Saturday 4th June 2022. We had prizes for the very best entries.

Event Committee.

  • Tracy Dickinson – Moss Bank Councillor
  • Zeena Iysha Begum
  • Moss Bank Labour
  • Park Farm Community Centre
  • Carr Mill Primary School

Local Business.

We offered stall spaces available at our Picnic in the Park Jubilee event. I was a perfect opportunity to offer local products, activities or services from local bussiness in front of hundreds and hundreds of people living in Carr Mill, Clinkham Wood and Moss Bank.

We charged Just £20 for stalls (2pm-7pm) with setup time either side.

Event Summary.

We had all prepared for what turned out to be an amazing Jubilee celebration event, our Moss Bank Picnic in the Park!! We hope everybody who joined us on the day had a great time. It was a fantastic turnout… community spirit at its finest! We’d like to share this video to remember the day, to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our residents, supporters, volunteers, stewards, donors, sponsors and partners.

A special thanks to Jean Devlin who sparked the idea, and to local resident Eileen (who was involved in the first Jubilee party on the estate) for kindly opening our event.

Followed by more thanks to KL Dance for an amazing set of performances, Carr Mill Primary School students who sang brilliantly, Saints RLFC cheerleaders who lifted our spirits even more, St Helens Accordionists who serenaded us, the ever fabulous Miss Mello Queen (aka Bradley) for bringing the sparkle, and Pablo Avo for singing us out… and who could forget Her Majesty, the Grand Queen of Clink, Tricia Highcock!

Same again next year?
